Background & Aims: Organ donation is a widely recognized practice that helps save lives and enhance the quality of life for recipients who are likely to benefit. Nurses, being among the most accessible healthcare professionals to the families of brain-dead individuals, play a crucial role in guiding and supporting these families through the decision-making process, helping them consider the option of donating their loved one's organs. This study was undertaken to assess the knowledge levels and attitudes of nurses concerning organ transplantation.

Data were analyzed using SPSS statistical software version 23 and independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation.

There was significant relationship between organ donation training and knowledge (P < 0.001) and attitude (P = 0.001). There was significant relationship between Receiving an organ donor card and knowledge (P < 0.001) and attitude (P = 0.007).
Conclusion: In general, nurses' knowledge about organ donation was at an average level and nurses' attitude about organ donation was positive.  To raise nurses’ awareness, it is recommended to hold workshops and educational conferences, and it would be best to incorporate this into the continuous education program for the medical staff.
