The Iran Journal of Nursing (IJN) follows the ICMJE authorship criteria and requires full transparency regarding each author’s role in the manuscript.
To be listed as an author, each contributor must meet all of the following:
significant contribution to study design, data collection, or analysis
drafting or critically revising the manuscript
final approval of the submitted version
full accountability for the integrity of the work
Contributors who do not meet all criteria must be acknowledged rather than listed as authors.
All manuscripts must include a brief Authors’ Contributions Statement, based on the CRediT taxonomy, indicating roles such as:
concept and design
data collection
analysis
writing – original draft
writing – review and editing
supervision
This statement will appear in the published article.
In line with Scopus 2023 ethics, the journal prohibits:
gift or honorary authorship
ghost authorship
purchased authorship or paper-mill involvement
false affiliations
unexplained authorship changes
Such violations may lead to rejection or retraction.
Any request to change authorship after submission must:
include a written explanation
be approved by all authors
receive editorial approval
Unauthorized changes are treated as ethical misconduc
