Background and Purpose: Caring is recognized as one of the most fundamental elements of nursing and is recognized as the essence of the nursing profession. On the other hand, psychological capital is the positive aspect of human life and is defined based on having a goal to achieve success and stability in the face of problems. Because nurses experience a high level of psychological stress. Therefore, a study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between psychological capital and caring behavior in nurses of educational and therapeutic centers of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, Khorramabad city in 1401.
Research Methodology: This research was a descriptive-correlation cross-sectional study. The research community included nurses working in the educational and therapeutic center of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, Khorramabad city in 1401. The research sample consisted of 300 nurses working in 4 educational and therapeutic centers of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, Khorramabad city, who met the conditions and criteria of entry and willingness to participate in the study. The sampling method was available. In order to collect information, the demographic profile form, McGee's psychological capital questionnaire, and Wolf et al.'s CBI-42 caring behavior questionnaire were used. SPSS version 20 software was used to analyze the data.
findings: The findings showed that caring behavior had a direct and significant correlation with psychological capital (r=0.407). Caring behavior had a significant correlation with all dimensions of psychological capital, the highest correlation with psychological capital was in the dimension of hope (r=0.398) and the lowest was in the dimension of self-efficacy (r=0.281). The findings showed that there was a significant correlation between psychological capital and all aspects of caring behavior (r=0.407). The results of Pearson's correlation coefficient showed that there was a direct and significant correlation between all dimensions of psychological capital and all dimensions of caring behavior (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Psychological capital has been related to all dimensions of caring behavior, which means that nurses with high psychological capital provided more appropriate caring behavior.
