  This is a field study to assess the growth and development of 15 month-old children who have been

  breast fed continuously from birth . This study has been conducted in the health centers related to Iran

  Medical University in Tehran in 1995 .

  One hundred (n =100) 15 month-old children (50 girls, 50 boys) took pan in this research . Brought in

  by their mothers , they have referred to one of the health clinks from the four educational hospitals related

  10 Iran Medical University in Tehran . They were referred to for their periodical vaccination visits ,

  Data collecting tools in this study were questionnaire , Seca scale and strip metre. The questionnaire was

  developed by the researcher and consisted of three parts . The first part included 4 questions on subjects ,

  physical measurements (such as weight . height. head circumference, etc:…) at birth, the second part consisted of

  6 questions on their specifications currently, and the third pan included 37 questions on their cognitive

  emotional and social development .

  The collected data au presented in 22 tables and 6 graphs . The descriptional and inferential nameswere wed

  to analyze them . Growth and development of children under study were compatible with the standard curve .

  The findings of the investigation showed that in a major percent of these continuously breast fed subjects J

  physical growth was compatible with the standard curve. A lso the majority of these children has gained cognitive motor

  emotional and social development, There was a significant correlation between the subjects ' specifications'

  such as weight , height, head circumference and chest circumference at birth and at 15 month sub age .

  At last according to the results, the researcher makes suggestions for further investigation and for the use

of this survey in various areas of children growth and development assessments .
