Background : Patient's education should be done according to their educational needs and their gender.
Objective : To determine and compare patient's educational needs at the time of discharge from the view point of men & women.
Design : This wad a descriptive – Comparative study. Educational needs of patients who had undergone CABG were determined through questionnaire.
Samples : 200 men and women (100 each) who had undergone CABG for the first time were selected consecutively.
Results : The findings indicated that there was a significant difference between men & women educational needs in different dimensions except for medication.
Conclusion : According to research findings it is recommended to consider gender at the time of education also it has been recommended that the effect of education on quality of life be assessed.
