زمینه و هدف: خشونت خانگی واقعیتی آزاردهنده و غیرقابل انکار در دنیای امروز است. این مطالعه با هدف بررسی انتقال خشونت از خانواده اصلی به خانواده فعلی در زنان خشونت دیده مراجعه‌کننده به دادگاه انجام شد.
روش بررسی: این مطالعه از نوع همبستگی بود. تعداد 283 نفر از زنان مراجعه کننده به مجتمع‌های قضایی خانواده، پزشکی قانونی و شوراهای حل اختلاف شهر شیراز در سال 1393به روش نمونه گیری در دسترس وارد مطالعه شدند و به دو پرسشنامه سنجش خشونت علیه زنان و سنجش خشونت در خانواده اصلی پاسخ دادند. برای تحلیل داده‌ها از همبستگی پیرسون و تحلیل رگرسیون و نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 19 استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: تحلیل داده‌ها نشان داد میان خشونت در خانواده اصلی و خشونت در خانواده فعلی (01/0P<)، خشونت فیزیکی در خانواده اصلی و خشونت فیزیکی در خانواده فعلی (01/0P<)، خشونت روانی در خانواده اصلی و خشونت روانی در خانواده فعلی (01/0P<) و خشونت اقتصادی در خانواده اصلی و خشونت اقتصادی در خانواده فعلی (01/0P<) رابطه مستقیم و معنی‌داری وجود دارد. همچنین، خشونت در خانواده اصلی عامل پیش‌بینی کننده خشونت و انواع آن در خانواده فعلی (01/0P<) است.
نتیجه‌گیری کلی: با توجه به یافته‌های پژوهش می‌توان گفت میان خشونت در خانواده اصلی با خشونت در خانواده فعلی ارتباط مستقیم و معنی‌داری وجود دارد و مشاهده خشونت بین والدین در خانواده اصلی با افزایش خطر قربانی خشونت شدن توسط همسر همراه است.
