زمینه و هدف: مطالعات انجام شده در زمینه بررسی صلاحیت بالینی پرستاران و عوامل زمینه‌ای مرتبط با آن، نتایج متناقض و گاه دور از انتظاری داشته‌اند. با توجه به نقش صلاحیت‌های بالینی پرستاران در کیفیت مراقبت پرستاری، این مطالعه با هدف تعیین صلاحیت بالینی پرستاران شاغل در بیمارستان شهید بهشتی کاشان از دیدگاه خود آنها و سرپرستاران انجام شد.
روش بررسی: در این مطالعه توصیفی مقطعی در سال 1396، صلاحیت بالینی 145 پرستار بخش‌های مختلف بیمارستان شهید بهشتی کاشان به روش خودارزیابی و نیز از دیدگاه 19 نفر از سرپرستاران آن بخش‌ها، بررسی شد. ابزار جمع آوری داده‌ها، پرسشنامه سنجش صلاحیت بالینی پرستاران بود که 73 مهارت مختلف پرستاری را در هفت حیطه شامل نقش‌ها و وظایف یاری‌رسانی، آموزش و راهنمایی، فعالیت‌های تشخیصی، موقعیت‌های مدیریتی، مداخلات درمانی، تضمین کیفیت و حیطه وظایف شغلی و سازمانی اندازه‌گیری می‌کند. سطح صلاحیت بر اساس مقیاس نمره‌دهی 100- 0 و میزان بکارکیری عملی مهارت‌های پرستاری در محیط بالینی بوسیله مقیاس چهار رتبه‌ای لیکرت تعیین و برای تجزیه و تحلیل داده‌ها از آمار توصیفی و استنباطی در نرم افزار SPSS نسخه 13 استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: پرستاران صلاحیت بالینی خود را با میانگین 08/67 و انحراف معیار 21/15 در سطح خوب و درصد بکارگیری مهارت‌های بالینی را 00/77 درصد با انحراف معیار 14/13، و سرپرستاران نیز صلاحیت بالینی پرستاران را با میانگین 24/78 و انحراف معیار 80/11 در سطح عالی بیان نمودند. یک رابطه مثبت بین صلاحیت بالینی پرستاران و میزان بکارگیری مهارت‌ها توسط آنها مشاهده شد (845/0=r ، 001/0=P).
نتیجه‌گیری کلی: سطح صلاحیت بالینی و میزان بکارگیری مهارت‌های پرستاران از دیدگاه پرستاران و سرپرستاران آنها در سطح بالایی بود. همچنین رابطه مثبتی بین صلاحیت بالینی پرستاران و میزان بکارگیری این صلاحیت‌ها وجود داشت.
