زمینه و هدف: مراقبت از کودک مبتلا به سرطان برای والدین یک تجربه اضطراب‌آور است و می‌تواند منجر به ایجاد بار مراقبتی در والدین شود. هدف این مطالعه تعیین بار مراقبتی والدین کودکان مبتلا به سرطان و عوامل مرتبط با آن بود.
روش بررسی: در این پژوهش توصیفی- مقطعی، 85 نفر از والدین کودکان مبتلا به سرطان مراجعه کننده به بیمارستان شهدای تجریش تهران به روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس و بر اساس ویژگی‌های ورود، انتخاب و وارد مطالعه شدند. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها شامل پرسشنامه‌های اطلاعات دموگرافیک و بار مراقبتی بود. داده‌ها با استفاده از آمار توصیفی و آمار استنباطی شامل آزمون t مستقل، آنالیز واریانس یک طرفه، آزمون همبستگی پیرسون و رگرسیون خطی به شیوه گام به گام در نرم افزار آماری SPSS نسخه 19تجزیه و تحلیل شد.
یافته‌ها: میانگین بار مراقبتی والدین 83/9 ± 68/52 بود که 6/17درصد، 8/71 درصد و 6/10 درصد از والدین به ترتیب بار مراقبتی کم، متوسط و شدید را گزارش نمودند. آنالیز رگرسیون نشان داد که فاکتورهای مرتبط با بار مراقبتی والدین شامل نوع سرطان (ابتلا به لوکمی میلوئیدی حاد و سپس یوئینگ سارکوما)، تعداد بستری کودکان، وضعیت درآمد والدین و سن والدین بوده است. این متغیرها توانسته‌اند 58 درصد از تغییرات متغیر بار مراقبتی را پیش‌بینی کنند.
نتیجه‌گیری کلی: نتایج این مطالعه نشان داد که بار مراقبتی در والدین کودکان مبتلا به سرطان در حد متوسطی است. سطح بالای بار مراقبتی در این والدین با نوع سرطان، افزایش تعداد بستری کودکان، درآمد پایین و سن کم والدین در ارتباط بود. بنابراین شناسایی عوامل مؤثر در بروز بار مراقبتی والدین و طراحی استراتژی‌های مناسب جهت کاهش این بار که بتواند منجر به بهبود عملکرد والدین در ارائه مراقبت به کودکان مبتلا به سرطان شود، ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
