This involves assigning a room with several beds near the nursing station, collecting of dangerous instruments, limiting of each unit, and excessive caring by nurse. The purpose of this policy is preventing of self- destructing behaviors in hospital. However these interventions are not effective unless the suicidal thoughts away from patient in the hospital and after discharge. Oveisi sadat Moosavi Roshanravan Kamali   The aim of this cross sectional study is the assessment of physical and psychosocial problems of patients with pacemaker and effects of social - individual factors (such as age, sex, marital status, level of education,....) on the intensity of problems. In the study 60 patients (27 women, 33 men) that their mean age was 60.07 years, were studied. Sampling was purposive and the samples were selected from patients with inclusion criteria who had come to the outpatient heart clinic in the Hospitals of Ministry of Health and Medical Education in Tehran . Data collection was carried out with a questionnaire and then data was analyzed. Results of present study showed that the main physical problems of patients were fatigue, dyspnea, palpitation and vertigo. Also 11.67% of patients had an infection or skin disorder in the pacemaker site which is much more than similar studies. It should be noted that infections can lead to more serious problems . Also the results showed that major social problems of these patients were problem of access to health care centers, job loss, performing job responsibilities, providing cost of living and cost of treating. Also main psychological problems were concern about the possibility of running out of battery and failure of the pacemaker, injury to pacemaker, disability in doing exercise and their favorite activities. Data analysis showed that there was a relationship between physical and psychosocial problems and with increasing problems in any dimension problems in other dimensions will increase. Finally at the end of article, applications of research finding have been discussed in nursing. physical problems psychosocial problems patients pacemaker 1993 3 01 16 27 http://ijn.iums.ac.ir/article-1-1112-en.pdf

Periconceptional spermicide use was not associated with any important variation in the expected sex ratio at birth, nor with major or minor congenital anomalies. Exposure to spermicides in the periconceptional period defined dichotomously as present or absent, was not associated with decreased birth weight in male or female infants. There was a slight decrease in birth weight among female infants with increasing duration of postconceptional spermicide use an estimated 7.4 grams decrease with each day of use. Iran Journal of Nursing IJN 2008-5931 2008-5931 10.52547/ijn 1993 7 6 Failure to thrive: A dilemma for community health care ES HajiKazemi   Juanita Hernandez is an 18-month-old Hispanic, the younger of two children. Juanita was at the 25th percentile for height and weight at birth, but both measurements fell to just below the 5th percentile during her first year. For the last 6 months however, her rate of growth has been normal and her height and weight curves lie parallel to just below the 5th percentile. Juanita appears quite small, but her parents and older sibling also appear to be smaller than average. Her development is normal. Should she be referred for a diagnostic evaluation? The community health nurse (CHN) frequently encounters infants and young children who appear small for their ages. The difficulty in making correct assessments of these children can lead to over referral, costing the family and community time, money, and unnecessary concern. However, reluctance to refer may cause serious illness to be missed. What constitutes failure to thrive (FTT)? Is it a common problem? What are the components of a nursing assessment of small-for-age children? What referral criteria should be used? To address these questions, this article reviews the literature for the defining characteristics and incidence of FTT. Organic and nonorganic FTT are differentiated. Tools for nursing assessment of small-for-age children are discussed. Criteria for referral of small-for-age children to medical evaluation are suggested, and recommendations for further study are made. Iran Journal of Nursing IJN 2008-5931 2008-5931 10.52547/ijn 1993 7 6 Constructing a conceptual framework for psychosocial nursing MM BaniAsad   Increasing complexity of treatment and current psychological health problems reveals the importance of uniqueness psychological health care in the nursing profession . Therefore the need to have a clear conceptual base in psychological nursing is recommended. Often psychological nurses have accepted a modified approach about collaborative interaction in current theories (such as psychoanalyses of behaviorism and humanism). Many books in psychological nursing education will learn about a wide range of psychological theories as a base of knowledge without providing a clear conceptual attitude for selecting and performing them . Iran Journal of Nursing IJN 2008-5931 2008-5931 10.52547/ijn 1993 7 6 The discharge of mothers by midwives T Amirhoseini   In postpartum departments the skills and experience of doctors and midwives will overlap together but it is not sufficiently recognized . Little importance to the ability of midwives will reduce the scope of their responsibilities and decision-making power will be taken from them , also this will result in demoralization and decreasing job satisfaction. In this situation work load of new physicians will increase and patients will suffer from repeated examinations and endless waiting. Ineffective use of these skills or ignore them will reduce job satisfaction of midwives, also financial resources and human resources will be waste , therefore poor services will be deliver ed to mothers . Rabinson 1983 identified cases in which midwifes' skills were not used properly and adequately and their values was not enough. discharge of mothers midwife 1993 3 01 54 57 http://ijn.iums.ac.ir/article-1-1118-en.pdf

Ashjaee   During the long years, diagnosis of fever in labor was an interesting and important subject for health groups and the main reason was the increased mortality rate of women that were affected by these infections after delivery. The most common serious complication after delivery is infection . Usually 1 to 7 percent of women are affected by postpartum infection . A symptom of this type of infection is temperature 38 C or more for two days in the first ten days after delivery (Except for the first 24 hours) . Some women are discharged within a few hours and most patients can leave the hospital until the fourth day, therefore the first abnormal increase in temperature may occur after discharge from hospital .
