Background: Prevalence of coronary artery disease and its death rate is increasing in Iran. Appropriate health behaviors and life style can prevent the disease in the first place and also its reoccurrence . Objective: To identify changes in patients' health behaviors 4-6 months after myocardial infarction (MI). Design: A cross- sectional design was employed to measure dietary regiment, cigarettes smoking, exercise and stress- coping behaviors pre and post (4-6 months) MI using a self administered questionnaire. Samples: 89 patients were selected by stratified random sampling 4-6 months after their first MI attach. Results: Considering cigarette smoking behavior most of the patients were nor smoking before MI and remained unchanged (84%). Regarding dietary regiment most of the patients had unhealthy behavior before MI and remained unchanged afterwards (68.5%). Exercise behavior in 36% of the subjects was appropriate and remained unchanged, while 34.8% were unappropriate and also unchanged. More than 50% of the patients had healthy behavior in regard to coping with stress at both pre and post stages. Conclusion: Nurses should reinforce health education particularly the appropriate health behaviors. Follow up of the patients is recommended in order to maintain healthy behaviors or to change unhealthy ones' after MI.

Background : The attachment between mother and child is one of the most beautiful relationship which is establishes long before birth. A mother who is attached to her fetus is ready to have a good relationship with her newborn. Objective : To determine the effect of touching fetus during pregnancy on maternal fetal and maternal newborn attachment. Design : The study was a single blind controlled clinical trial. Maternal total attachment was measured 2 weeks after abdominal touch in case group and compared with that of control group. Mother's attachment with her newborn was measured at first breast feeding in both groups. Samples : 100 primigravida mother, 32-35 week pregnant randomly divided in two groups, 50 mothers in case group (with fetal touch) and 50 in control group (without fetal touch) Results : There was no significant difference between two group regarding fetal attachment behaviors, but maternal newborn attachment behaviors were significantly improved in case group (p=0.000). Conclusion : Regarding findings, it is suggested that by providing simple interferences, such as touching the fetus on can try to strengthen the relation between mother and her newborn.

Background: One of the most common complaints after any surgery is pain, which can also be true after knee surgeries. Since there is limitation using narcotics one should think of non drag measures to relieve pain. Objective: To determine the effect of cold therapy on pain after knee surgery. Design: This was a randomized clinical trial with control group. At the beginning of trial both groups' pain intensity was measured using a visual analogue scale. Pain intensity was measured again after one hour application of ice bag for case group and tap water bag for control group. The difference between the two readings were considered as reduction in pain due to treatment. Samples: 80 clients 15-45 years of age undergoing knee surgeries were randomly selected and divided into two groups (40 case and 40 control). Results: Pain intensity was reduced in both groups after one hour treatment, but this reduction was significantly more in cold therapy (case) group (p=0.000) Conclusion: Cold therapy can be a good choice to use as a non- drug pain relief measure after knee surgeries. Further researches should be carried out for other painful situations and surgeries, other than knee surgeries, in order to find out the effectiveness of cold therapy. It is also recommended to apply cold in other forms than that it was used in this research .
