The present study aimed to compare the quality of life and sense of coherence among the mothers with term and preterm infants. Methods & Materials: This is a comparative study conducted on 50 mothers with term infant and 50 mothers with preterm infant. Data collection instruments were the WHO Quality of Life questionnaire and SOC-13 questionnaire which were evaluated in the two groups. T test, exact Fisher test, Chi-square and analysis of variance were used to analyze the data on the SPSS software version 19. Results: The study revealed that the sense of physical health among the mothers with term infant was higher than that of the mothers with preterm infant (P<0.017). In the group of mothers with term infant, there was a statistically significant relationship between all the dimensions of quality of life and sense of coherence (P<0.001),which was also reported in the group of mothers with preterm infant, except for physical health dimension (P<0.499). Conclusion: In terms of the physical health dimension of quality of life, mothers with preterm infant need appropriate care and planning to enhance their quality of life and sense of coherence. }, URL = {http://ijn.iums.ac.ir/article-1-2450-en.html}, eprint = {http://ijn.iums.ac.ir/article-1-2450-en.pdf}, journal = {Iran Journal of Nursing}, doi = {10.29252/ijn.30.106.57}, year = {2017} }
