   These days, one of the most tragic events in all societies is addiction, unfortunately, these are the youngsters whom, as they say are used to drugs because of all kinds of hardships from personal to social. Addiction ruins the cultural, social, moral, economical and even political impacts of countries. Assessing personal, familial, social and economical characteristics of addicted women in prison, we conducted a descriptive study on all 108 addicted imprisoned women in Even prison, our data gathering tool was questionnaires.

  Regarding our findings the mean age of the participants was 33.92 years. Meanwhile 25.5% of them were educated at below high school level, 6.6% of these women had university certificate. Their family members ranged between 2 to 22 and they earned 10000 to 200000 tomans monthly. From the point of family responsibility 50.5% of participants had to cover the expenses of the family themselves and in 21% of them the spouse had to do so. Besides, 42% of these women reckoned that the first person whom made them familiar with the drugs were their husbands and in 48% of them the first place of drug using were their homes.

  Overall, considering that the addiction is the clamity of all economical, social, educational and cultural groups of countries, we request the authorities to provide designs for preventing addiction and treating addicted people and also to provide the people with opportunities to be able to work, earn money and have a satisfactory life to decrease their stresses.
